The difficulty of connecting team members beyond task conversations

With the impact of the pandemia shrinking their team indirections to only virtual gatherings, the team of Enboarder EMEA had to find a solution to maintain their culture. “We have had to get creative to think of ways to create engagement between colleagues, even more so for us as we are a company centred around employee experience.” The team quickly mobilize to find alternatives that allow them establish clear days for bonding and other to respect their employees piece of mind, “We’ve responded well, with virtual events, collaboration through Slack and even creating an ‘Enrichment Day’, a day each quarter that every employee is able to take to better themselves.” said Lise.

For Chris and the team, it’s very important to stay close to the colleagues and understand the team’s health often. “We did a few pulse surveys mid-2020 to get an understanding of engagement with the business, level of communications that they were receiving and overall sentiment that they were feeling.” They used the survey results and feedback to tailor a solution. “(virtual team-building activities) allow for a physical pause in the team's day. The ability for them to switch off their daily tasks (which can often take over our lives), and have some downtime. It’s so important to keep team members communicating with each other outside of task conversations.”

Using a modern team event platform

While the market is flooded with options and team bonding alternatives, the easier and more user-friendly experience it’s one of the things Lise values the most, “We love the variety of experiences that are available and the ease of navigating and booking these events.”

A crucial aspect in the monthly use of Onsite.fun is the ability to create a special experience that feels unique, recognizing how important it is to connect teams virtually “For us, it’s all about variety. We don’t want to make it feel like it’s an effort to attend another virtual event, and we really want to make it memorable.” said Chris.

Maintaining your company culture and efficient business processes while rapidly scaling your workforce can be a monumental challenge. Enboarder uses Onsite.fun to to streamline and manage team building bookings for their EMEA office. “We would spend a few days researching for each event, then we’d have to often run these ourselves. Now we spend roughly an hour researching each event and are confident that the event will run smoothly. It’s been a game-changer!” said Lise.
