What you'll do

The workshop is very hands-on and it will last 75 minutes, during which I demonstrate step-by-step the method and following my very clear instructions participants will make everything from scratch.

I will first explain the ingredients: what type of flour we use, the quantities and where you can get the best ingredients. Then, I will demonstrate the method and what to look out for to make the perfect dough. We will spend time forming the pizza

I will first explain the ingredients: what type of flour we use, the quantities and where you can get the best ingredients. Then, I will demonstrate the method and what to look out for to make the perfect dough. We will spend time forming the pizza into its traditional shape. I am Vicky, I grew up in Calabria in the South of Italy and moved here almost 10 years ago. Growing up in the South of Italy meant eating food grown by my father, picked by me and cooked from scratch by my grandmother, mum and aunties. Most of the cooking happened in my grandmother’s house and the whole family would gather there. I started making homemade pasta with Nonna when I was 3 years old. At the time, I was only making a huge mess but over the years I refined my skills by practising a lot.

Now thanks to my cooking classes I want to bring my passion and values around the world. Cooking and making pasta from scratch is not only a way to feed our bodies but it also brings people together, bonds families and friends, feeds our soul and heals our bodies. This is the mission I pursue through my cooking classes and I do it focussing on having fun whilst cooking, using natural ingredients and respecting the environment. When taking part in my classes, I do my best to bring you in the South of Italy, surrounding you with the flavours and smells of my beautiful land.
